Beautiful Kauai

The island of Kauai is the oldest of the major Hawaiian islands. This age gives Kauai it's softer, more weathered features, and has produced more beaches per mile of coastline than any of the other islands.

Kauai, like it's neighbor islands, has a dry side and a wet side, but Kauai boasts the wettest spot on earth, on Mt. Waialeale, where it rains nearly every day. All this water has made Kauai the lushest island, so it's no surprise it's called "The Garden Isle". Waterfalls on Kauai are famous and have appeared on book covers, brochures, and post cards, as well as in many movies filmed on Kauai. The landscapes of Kauai are spectacular and varied, from the Waimea Canyon, known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, to the dramatic cliffs of the Na Pali coast, to its forests, beautiful botanical gardens and golf courses, and it's golden beaches with teeming coral reefs. The word "paradise" sums it up nicely.
